Brass Bound Teak Anglo-Indian Chest From Rajasthan -19thC

This antique brass and iron bound chest dates to the 19th century and is from Rajasthan. It would be the perfect size for a coffee table. . It is constructed from beautifully patinated teak and has its original brass fittings and handles. The interior consists of one large space, two candle boxes, and a hidden compartment for valuables. Two large drawers sit under the main storage area and there is another hidden compartment underneath the chest. A sturdy chain prevents the lid from falling open and straining the hinges.

This piece is a fine example of Rajasthani chests made during the 19th century. Old repairs can be seen on the hinges.
